Y5/Y6 Football Squad 2019/20

Football 16th January 2020

On Thursday, the school football team played their latest league match against Golborne All Saints. It was a dominant display in the first half, followed by a spirited fightback by the opposition at the restart, drawing level at one point. The team, however, dug in and pulled ahead to win 7-4. Well done team!

Football 21st November 2019

Last night, the school football team played a match against St Catherine's at Lowton High School. After a difficult first half, the team rallied round and put in a spirited fight back. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to win this week but well done to the team for their determination and effort.

Football 14th November 2019

Well done to the football team last night for a convincing win against Gilded Hollins, winning 10-2 overall. Congratulations team!

Football 31st October 2019

Last night, the school football team played their third match of the season. We played St Luke’s on the new 4G pitches at Lowton High School. It was a proverbial ‘game of two halves’. In the first half, we were solid at the back and patient up front, going into half-time 2-0 up. However, the second hand proved more challenging with a highly-competitive game finishing 3-2 to St Luke’s. Well done to the players who took part.

Congratulations to the football team on a convincing 8-1 win against Christchurch last night. Well done team!

Football 3rd October 2019

Last night was the first game of the football season. We played Golborne St Thomas’, winning by an amazing 15-0 score line! Well done to the Year 5 boys who all made impressive debuts and thank you to the four Year 6 ‘leaders on the pitch’ who helped the younger ones. Well done.
