Ofsted
Dear Parents/ Carers,
As Chair of Governors I have immense pleasure in writing to you regarding the recent Ofsted report which has been circulated to you.
The inspector noted that the school has retained its ‘good’ judgement and that Mrs Westhead has led the school to continuous improvement. He commented that pupils behave sensibly and are polite and well-mannered at all times. He also noted that the school provides pupils with a wide range of opportunities to improve their personal development. We are very proud that the school’s commitment to developing broad and rich educational experiences for pupils has been recognised in this way.
Having steered the school through the recent challenging years, this ‘Good’ judgement is richly deserved by Mrs. Westhead and her excellent team and I am sure you will join me in congratulating all involved. Under Mrs. Westhead’s leadership the school has continued to improve in all areas and to provide the very best possible teaching and learning opportunities for all the pupils within a truly inclusive and supportive environment.
In light of the turbulence of recent years, this is a tremendous achievement and is one that the school community truly deserves. We are thrilled that the inspector recognised the continued commitment, dedication and diligent professionalism that occur every day across our school.
I would also like to thank the governors whose expertise, dedication and commitment to improvement were recognised by the inspector.
School leaders and governors accept Ofsted’s findings and would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers who completed the Ofsted parental survey on-line, providing comments that were very helpful to the inspector. Lowton West Primary School strives to be friendly, open and responsive in all matters and is eager to receive your comments, concerns and feedback throughout the year.
Whilst we are proud of this ‘good’ judgement, we will continue to strive to further improve the school to ensure our pupils achieve the very best that they can and leave the school well prepared for the next steps in their education. Our detailed development plan is focused on further improving the school curriculum and pupils’ learning from Early Years to Year 6.
Please feel free to contact Mrs. Westhead or myself via the school, if you wish to discuss any aspect of the report further.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Gena Merrett
Chair of Governors
