School Council

'Pupil voice’ is very important to us at Lowton West.  We believe that it is important to listen to our pupils and we greatly value their contributions.  We have a very active School Council and they have been involved in leading several school projects such as buying new indoor games for wet playtimes, organising the annual ‘Children in Need’ day, organising a ‘Healthy Lifestyles’ week, etc...

Every year, each class (Year 2-6) elects two representatives (a boy and a girl) who meet regularly with a member of staff.  Outcomes from meetings are shared back to the rest of the children in class and in school assemblies. Sometimes, we are also joined by School Governors at our School Council Meetings.

School Council Vision

Our vision is, for all children at Lowton West Primary School to be able to have a voice and contribute towards the continuous improvement of our school community.

In order to achieve the vision, we will ensure the following :

  • Our School Council will work together as a team to ensure we can be the best school possible by discussing ideas and making decisions.
  • We aim to make pupils feel comfortable, happy and safe at school.
  • We aim to listen to others and discuss comments and suggestions that will make our school an even more wonderful place.
