GDPR
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is Europe’s new framework for data protection – it came into force on 25th May 2018 at the same time as the UK’s Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018).
Since the UK left the EU the GDPR has become the UK GDPR and sits alongside the DPA 2018, and this will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future.
These new regulations work together to control the way information is collected, stored and processed. Many organisations including schools, academies and other education establishments now operate within this new legal framework.
Lowton West Primary School is working with Judicium Consulting Limited in order to maintain compliancy with these new rules and regulations and we have altered many of our policies and procedures in order to better protect the data we hold about our pupils, parents and staff.
Further information can be found at the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) website
Please refer to the GDPR Policy and Privacy Notice, which are available in our policies section.
