Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day

As Remembrance Day approaches, the children have been involved in various activities. The week began with key stage assemblies discussing why and how we remember those who have sacrificed so much. In class, the children have taken part in creating different artwork related to Remembrance Day e.g. poppy wreaths in Year 1, Remembrance silhouettes in Year 6. Other year groups have explored Remembrance Day through guided reading e.g. Year 5 have read about the tomb of the unknown soldier in their text.

Many thanks for all donations made to the British Legion and their poppy appeal. Poppies and gifts were a complete sell-out by Thursday, so thank you again for supporting such an important charity.
