Reception Trip to Windmill Farm

Class: Class 1 (Reception) Year: 2021 - 2022

On Tuesday, Classes 1 and 2 enjoyed a very sunny trip to Windmill Animal Farm. After a brief toilet, snack and drink stop on arrival, we headed straight to the playground where the children enjoyed the zip wire, climbing, the slides and the swings. Our next stop was the train ride. We all boarded the train together and took a little journey through the farm observing the cows, sheep, ponies and deer in the fields, before disembarking for another little pit stop at Lakeview station and a play on the playground. Back at the farm we were just in time for lunch, where the children were able to sit together and talk about what they had seen so far. All fed and watered, we were out again to meet Farmer Graham and Farmer Amanda. We had lots of fun looking at, stroking and even holding some of their creepy critters - bearded dragon, gecko, boa constrictor and scorpion before meeting some woolly pigs called Mango and Peaches. After that we headed over to meet, stroke and feed a baby lamb - it was very, very hungry! Finally, we got to meet and feed Dexter Dorothy the cow (with a very slobbery tongue), Lenny the Llama (who was very tall) and Dominic the Donkey (who was very noisy).

The day was a busy one but we all had lots of fun and to top it all off, the sun was out!

The children were all extremely well behaved and a credit to our school and their parents.

We are sure they all slept well that evening - we know the staff did!

Well done Class 1 and 2, and thank you to the Friends Association for contributing to the cost.
