Lowton West Primary School

'PE and Sport Premium Funding 2015-16'

Implementing the Sports Premium at Lowton West Primary School 2015-2016

The Government has given every primary school funding to develop Physical Education and competitive sport. This year Lowton West has received £9,815.00

In our school we are using this funding by working in partnership with a local company – Premier Sports, the LA and with our LOGOs cluster of schools to:

o    Continue to provide more opportunities for children to take part in school sporting competitions and inter-house competitions.

o    Introduce more new and unusual sports

o    Develop more provision for additional clubs and activities outside the curriculum for children eligible for Pupil Premium.

o    Continue to increase sporting activities to develop children’s fitness and to promote a healthy lifestyle through sport.

o    Develop staff expertise in teaching PE and sport.

Working with Premier Sports, we are bringing coaches into school to provide our children with high quality sports experiences. Additionally, a selection of lessons delivered by these coaches are observed by class teachers to improve their own skills and provide for sustainability.

In this way our children will gain new skills and experience, and teachers will develop new techniques and knowledge to aid them in their future teaching of sport and PE
