This week, pupils have taken part in Waste Week. This is a National programme looking at ways to help reduce waste. Pupils have looked at ways we can recycle and reuse more of the waste we produce. The Eco Team led an assembly to the whole school on Waste Week. Pupils looked at the biggest sources of waste, what happens to waste and what we can do as a school to help tackle this extremely important environmental issue.
Pupils in each year group carried out work on Waste Week. Pupils presented some of their work to the rest of the school in Friday’s Celebration Assembly. Pupils looked at ways we tackle recycling as a whole school issue. Examples included paper recycling, food waste recycling and ink cartridge recycling.
Thank you to the Eco Team and the rest of the school for their hard work and support during Waste Week.
Bottle Competition – Waste Week
The Eco Team would like to thank all of the pupils who took part in the Bottle Competition as part of Waste Week.
All of the designs were beyond expectations and they look absolutely fantastic. Bottle designs include superhero characters, animals, and even flower arrangements.
It was an extremely hard decision as they were all so good, but the Key Stage 1 winner is Cameron R. (3) and the Key Stage 2 winner is Lewis J. (C9).
Thank you again for taking part in this competition ad supporting Waste Week.
All the children that have taken part in the competition will receive a certificate.
